Health tips for parents/guardians

                                                                                                                                            handwash

In order to maintain a healthy school environment for students and staff we need your help.

*Encourage your children to get regular exercise, plenty of sleep, and eat a healthy balanced diet.

* Encourage your children to wash their hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub. Instant hand sanitizing dispensers are located throughout the school building.

*Teach your children not to share personal items like drinks, food, or unwashed utensils, and to cover their coughs and sneezes with tissues. If a tissue is not available instruct children to cover their coughs or sneezes using their elbow, arm or sleeve instead of their hand.

*Keep sick children at home for at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit, 37.8 degrees Celsius or greater) without using fever-reducing drugs.

*Do not send children to school if they are sick.

*Know the signs and symptoms of the flu. Symptoms of the flu include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, and feeling very tired. Some people may also vomit or have diarrhea.

While it may not be possible to avoid every cold or flu, following these tips will lower the risk of getting sick.

Please do no hesitate to contact the School Nurse with any questions or concerns.
